Local by design

A private document editor with no document upload

Some writing tasks are too small or personal to justify creating another cloud document. LetterToolkit Writer edits and autosaves documents locally using browser storage.

What stays local

Document titles, content, settings and recovery versions are stored in IndexedDB in the current browser. LetterToolkit does not provide a server-side document library for Writer.

02

What still uses the internet

The site itself, advertising resources and standard hosting assets load over the internet. The statement that documents stay local refers to document content, not every network request made by the webpage.

03

Protect your work

Browser data can be cleared, devices can fail and private browsing may remove storage. Download important documents as DOCX or another format and keep your own backup.

How to use LetterToolkit Writer

  1. Open Writer and choose a blank document or template.
  2. Write directly or open a DOCX, TXT, HTML or Markdown file.
  3. Format and review the document while local autosave protects the draft.
  4. Download DOCX, TXT, HTML or Markdown, or print to PDF.
