About us

Why LetterToolkit exists

LetterToolkit is an independent collection of free writing and word-solving tools. It was built around a simple idea: common word tasks should be quick to solve without creating an account, handing over a search history, or fighting through a complicated interface.

What the site does

The site includes an unscrambler, anagram solver, word finder, Wordle helper, crossword helper, Scrabble helper, rhyme finder, searchable word lists, Word Explorer, and a browser-based Writer. The tools are designed for puzzles, vocabulary exploration, classroom exercises and everyday writing.

How searches work

Most word searches are processed in your browser after the shared dictionary has loaded. This makes repeated searches fast and means the letters and patterns you type do not need to be sent to a LetterToolkit search server. Some normal web infrastructure may still receive standard request information when pages and assets are loaded.

Our dictionary

LetterToolkit uses a large English word dataset and provides attribution in the project licensing information. A large dictionary is useful for discovery, but no single list matches every game, school, publisher or regional spelling standard. Uncommon results should therefore be checked against the official dictionary or rules for the activity you are doing.

Editorial approach

Our guides are written to explain strategies and concepts rather than merely repeat lists of keywords. We aim to distinguish between a tool result and an official ruling, give practical examples, and update pages when a feature or explanation becomes inaccurate.

Privacy and sustainability

The core tools are free. LetterToolkit may use advertising to support hosting and continued development. Advertising and analytics, when enabled, are described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell access to puzzle answers and we do not require an account for the core tools.

Corrections and feedback

If you find a broken tool, misleading explanation, questionable word or accessibility problem, please contact us. Useful reports include the page address, the input you used and what you expected to happen.
